The last three classes of performance management was very interested.Sir appreciate students to participate in the class and share their ideas.sometimes teacher speak frequently that is difficult for me to write a lecture.to encourage the students participation by using a conversational tone and not criticizing student questions or comments in front of the class. Students take a risk when they talk; need to deal tactfully with their contributions.

the way of teaching is goodclass environment is healthy and friendly

Respected sir try to be more practical than being theoretical and try to tell and study more from yourself rather than asking from the students again and again. Ask to students challenging questions rather asking every thing from the students. Most of times you appreciate every participation from the class right but try to signify those answers which are wrong given by the students. You accept every answer from the audience right do no do that only appreciate those answers which are right.
Although we got the idea of performance management systems and now we are capable of understanding every aspect of that so keep your patience alive and make us expert of this subject. Do not be tutor be teacher

ASalam to all i would like to say that in first 2 classes i was feeling bore as we were only discussing about topic of report which was a bit boring for me otherwise our class is quite interesting and our teacher makes every one participate in class. Due to humorous nature of our teacher class enviroment get pleasent and time passes quickly.

I think the first and second class were little bit informative not as much as i expect but it was may be due to start of the subject.Sir sheraz is corporative as we all know and motivates to all to partcipate in the class n try to provide equal opportunity to all for participation but due to lack of time sometimes he is unable to do it.Sometimes sir is going too fast.Due to his friendly nature everyone easily ask any question if anyone feels any difficulty to understand.

I really appreciate your this activity in which every one is free to say and suggess. we did not go through such activities in last three semesters. you are the one who can understand our inner feelings and can listen the meek voice of weak students.

In last two classes we disscused our project reports which were not so much interested but again it is part of our study. last class was excellent but at last moment you left the topic. sir your are moving very fast so we can not note down the important points.

I am impressed your way of teaching. Every one is participating in the class it is only because of your restless efforts. last but not least i expect more results from you.

PMS class is over all is good
But some times its seem to be scattered, in the sense of when sir start a particular topic then it become hard to understand that others discussing topics are included in it or not.
Some times it goes over the head may be the reason is the teaching pattern is new.
Lets hopes of the best…………….

Class is very interactive and new way to learn,through disscusing and participating in the course and we find easy way to understanding the all stuff. The way of teaching is very practical and understandable, and I also enjoy the class and all fellows are very nice and supportive. Class environment is friendly and sir trying his best for spreading knowledge and gaining knowledge because it’s a two way process.

sir i am very much satisfied with the teaching method of urs; encouraging students to speak up their ideas and to overcome their difficulties thus imparting public speaking confidence but in first two classes i get bored.we are going very slow we should go fast because we should have more knowledge about performance management,it will help in our project report.
practical approach towards course completion wud help us better understand the subject matter. real life examples of how to develop an organisation successfully must be given.

thankU for giving us the opprtunity to share our ideas regarding the teaching method and the course.

my views abt last 3 classes of PMS r same pattern of sir Shiraz teaching style which is i really luv 2 learn. even though i enjoyed it but sum times it get little bore when sir repeating things. thts gud to appreciate students even when they r wrong coz it boosts da confidence to participate more n more. i have one request 4rm sir plz take course smoothly n balanced to all three stages in da semester coz past experiences says tht u pushed students at da end more which cud becum bit harder to cope up da topics.
over all its gud n entertaining for me n my style of learning. he..he..he..

Well this is my third course from sir shiraz (so far):).Plus point is his enthusiastic way of teaching ,,nobody can sleep in the class, since three classes we have discussed about the project report and the definintions of performance and its importance.
Sometimes i feel that we are diverted from the main topic and it creates a confusion to understand.
Overall everything is fine and previous class was more fun specially when Sadia ghous showed up.

Performance mangment class ………….hmmm the first class was all about introduction at least i can’t understand in the first class what basically whta we are studing as the sire was giving the same or the simllar lecture which he had given in OD clas. Second class was quite intresting as we get the chance for using our brain and sort out what project we are intrested in and what we are planning for the projects…….The third class was the one in which i learn the most about Performance Managment and how it is used in the organization…..
All is going well in the previous classes… and hope it will continue as well

hi! itsme rabab, threeoftheclasseswent well but the basic outline of the course came clear to me in the recent class.I would like to bring 1 point in ur consideration Sir, that please try togive your conceptof the topic before giving a chance to the students bcoz this leaves a vague idea of the topic,all confused and spontaneously replies ofstudents jumble up and leave impact and the topic remains unclear.

Well about our previous classes, the interactive section sometimes get interesting and sometimes irritating as well.the course is interesting from HR point of view, so ppl hardly get bored in the class.teacher’s way of teaching is a bit changed from others.this way of teaching will help students to improve their speaking power.opinions of every student are valued.teacher maintains discipline and equality. the best thing is that there is no favouritism. Alot of learning can be done from Sir Shiraz’s courses e.g this blog thing , i never knew this before.teacher gives alot of tasks which i dont like :) switching off the OHP by the teacher is not appriciated by the students :) but he do this to gain student’s full attention.jokes and comments shared by the students are also encouraged which improves the atmosphere of the class. Frequent questions by the teacher keeps everyone alert, so one has to keep his or her eyes, ears and mind open all the time.no one can sleep in his class :) We;; thats all, which i had to say. will be contributing to this Blog Msg List in Future also.

The class of Performance Management System is very interesting and totally unique. The differences in the way of teaching and the style of learning are amazing. It is a bit difficult to digest the change immediately, but the new method is definitely going to make us learn more and better. Class participation is encouraged and we gain a lot through that. However, there are some concepts that can best be understood by students if they are taught by the teacher directly. Extra and irrelevant material often distracts the teacher and the students. Also, sometimes, a lot of time is spent on small things that are not even directly related to the topic. This makes the class boring and should be avoided. The pace of learning has been quick enough in the four classes that we have had so far. Hats of to Sir Shiraz for coming up in a completely new style this time Lets hope all of us accept the change quickly and adapt to it accordingly.

See as i wrote in my last comment also , that we’ll be learing alot of new things and activities from this course.today in the class, assignment on movie review was discussed, which was totally new for everyone.i really want to give it a try, bc that wud bring new type of learning for us. Way to go sir , you are on the right track.Plz dont worry abt our face expressions, just keep on going your way and ultimately we’ll adopt the change.to create skillfull students these typeof activities are oppertunity to grow n definitely tradition of maju’s teaching tyle should be changed, you have my 100% votesin this regard.

AOA.. classes are going well.. but it seems quite taff in start as we all have certain task to b done, this is very 1st time that i m writing any comment about any subject … new experience ! i have some expectations from this course that i will gain knowlegge through different ways as our respected teacher Shiraz r teaching us through different techniques… MOVIE REVIEWWW OOps sir what a task? It seems to me very new and innovative … well sir 1 thing i want to say ur teaching style is becoming change what i observed is that now u r more focusing on student that they should use their mind and have to give answer though wrong but they should participate during lecture …very good sir! i found this style only in ur classes .. it is a very good learning experience with u,

When i entered the class sir shiraz seemed to be upset and disappointed because we didnt opened up the files on yahoo groups.Then we were given a movie review assignment ,its very different task to be done and it would be successful hopefully.

well the behaviour of the class is acceptable the movie assignment is hard nut to crack.it seems to be very dejected and un-comfortable assignment.i will not negate or contradict from this irrefutable truth that teaching style is revolutionized, rejuvinated and revived but humour,fravolity and geity should not be turned into hanky panky.my humble request to our teacher is that please eradicate the movie assignment because it seems to be unequivocal and ambigious.it might be very un-ethical and un-civilized so please think about it thoroully and comprehensively and please respond in the class.do take very good care of your health

well about today’s class i would say that it was bit boring…i think that presentation session was not that effective enough for us because i learnt when sir taught us…so i think like we wont get much because we learn more with teacher’s practical examples… and like this we will be left behind.. well thats only my suggestion or wht i felt…rest is upto u sir cos u r the boss :) and u know much and better than us

hmm..i agree with Maria and Sana that we can understand more from teacher’s lecture rather than a presentation given by the student, and only the presenter would be well aware of that topic ofcourse, not the rest of the class. Most of the time was spent in the presentations ,leaving a very little time for sir to explain. In this way he went too fast .I think presentations should be given but not more than one and also NOT in every class, seriously it will get very boring for us..
Its my suggestion to take presentations alternately, once in a week .
But no doubt both Neelum and Saleema presented very well .

In the next class there is another presentation!! so be ready folks:)

The Performance class was good….. the presentations were interesting and informative one and the positive point for both presentations were there time management ….. “GM sahib ka effort HENARY FAYOL kay principles kay liya kaffi accha tha “………………… Hats off for GM sahib………

QUIZ was the only thing bad in the whole session  ……………. For the other it may be bad but it was 2 good for me ….. Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz sir moderate your pace of delivering lectures so that at least we can grasp the points

In the class of 19th jan.we learnt about the process of performance management system. in which the stages were explained including organisation, culture,functionality,job description, teamwork, strategy management, organisational development and HRM.we come to know about the organisation context and system and its norms, values,bliefs.
then operation and structure of department, who will report whom.we also discused about authority, chain of command and spain of control.

last but not least it was very precious and interesting class.

Fiza’s presented and explained with examples which was quite easy for us to understand.
I,ve learned so many interesting things through that divine appraisal ,it was simply a brilliant and thought provoking effort by sir Shiraz.

In the last class presentation was delivered by FAIZA. IT was a brilliant presentation.keep it up and mark my words if you continue progressing like this there are bright chances of your emerging as great leader.

In this class, sir dicsused THE DIVINE APPRAISAL. Really, it was precious class.I have no words to express my views on such precious topic.
Other topic was essence of PMS in which we learnt about PM CYCLE. It consist planning, action,monitoring and evalution then planning. it is a continuous process. planning contains job description with standards and objectives (smart). JD is the routine task whereas objectives are the non routine task. standards are set on quiality, quantity, time and cost.

Finally i am thankful to LUBNA SHAHEEN for her valuable comments.

The last class of the PM was simply mindblowing……………………. Sir shiraz ’s DEVIN PM MODEL was absolutly fantastics……… i ithink now i can easily understand with the help of that Devin Model regarding the PM and all the stuff which we have studiesd now………
Most of my questiong regarding the our wordly performance is answered through this model……………….

We are enjoying the course because it is interesting to look at performance management from various dimensions. The movie assignment is very interesting. It was a brilliant idea to develop a Divine Performance Mangement model, and this shows how PM can be related to everything around us. Today’s class was a bit boring because we were limited to a couple of topics only. There was a lot of repetition, which made things quite monotonous. However, we managed to learn something out of it.

Another new learnig for us that is hay group’s 34 skills. i never heard about it b4 , so a new learing for almost all of us. Sir your good relations with your mentor are providing alot of benefits for us , that is we are getting to know about alot of new things which would be useful for us in future. One more thing , i enjoyed alot while doing movie assignment bc i for the first time watched movie with a learning point of view , but it would had been better if u would have given it after the 10 days of muharrum , because alot of Ahl-e- Tasheeh people donot watch TV in these first days , but due to the assignment they had to majboorun watch a Movie in Ayama-e- Aza when they were suppossed to be attending majalis. Dont take it negetively sir , its not a complain , i just wanted to highliht a point which you should have thought of before announcing the subbmission date.Currenly aap ne submission date agay berha di hai , which is good .

hello sir,

well about the class in which we studied the divine appraisal system.. i would say it was the best class i ever had in this university.
definitly there was alot of things that i learnt which i never knew before and i would say that in every class sir should tell us something religious at the end.
the whole appraisal process is every clear in our minds…infact i wish if we could have these conversations in our sydicate sessions so that we can even questions or misunderstandings if we have in our minds…
sir it was really excellcent effort of yours..keep it up!!

well my comments about the last class that we had yesterday is….
that starting was good but then i got lost because there was soo much to understand and sir showed too many slides as well
so at one point i got lost and yes as sir mentioned that he had to get fast so he was really fast…
movie assingment was something entirely new for us and bit challenging so working on such kind of an assignment was good.
next assignment is also a new thing for us so i hope it would alos be a new learning for us that would help in enhancing our learning apart from the course book.
sir your doing a good job.. so keep it up!!

The class was very interesting today. I enjoyed the discussion on Hay Group competencies, especially because we had been unable to find them on the net. This discussion gave us an opportunity to give a thought to ourselves and identify a couple of competencies thst we possess. And Sir, this was not at all boring or useless, I think we all could see the relevance of this discussion with PM. Zarmina was very good with her presentation. I personally appreciate the idea of enabling the students to read and present so that they learn and remember better.

todaus class was undoutedly good especially tjhe poresentation from thr participant and this could give us the courage to perform in front of big audience.well i also learned to concentrate and visualize the environment uuder the supervision of teacher during presentation by the speaker.the assignment of competencies was good that give me courage to stricly adhere to the topic.

Sir What about the rest of the 21 competencies , you just told us 13 out of 34…. … anywayzzzz… i have now found a very good document relating to competencies , their levels also and more material relating to the competencies which we discussed in the class, … will inshallah be submitting it to u on friday.Now about the class, class discussion was asusual interactive and useful for most of the students , and for others ..i dnt know :) ( may be a bit boring , or may be otherz were feeling sleepy bcuz raat ko dair say soye honge ( as u say ) MTV dekh rhy honge :) ……… Sir, an advice 4 u, to make the students interested and participative in your class,,,,,, try appriciating and encouraging them bcuz of any of their good habit or quality, then see the result……. i m sure their interest will develop and they will be more interactive and participative………..This strategy of yourz worked in my case :) n similarly it will work for otherz too.

today class was good,discuss different competencies, discussion is a better way of learning,zarmina presentation was hummmy and amazed.teaching style wonderful,interactive class.i search a material about competencies.submit the assignment on friday.

no not mention zarmina’s presentation was awesome…she did a great job.
her way of presentation was very impressive that she actually made us learn whtever she was telling us.
even finding those competencies in your own self was good exercise that we had in class…really good.

In to days class, we discussed on the topic JOB PROFILE. In which we learnt about ranking or rating the performance of individual.the performnace related pay(PRP) is different in different organisation.rating is also can be done through bell curve but it is failed in the world. In shell the perfomance appraisal is done after every four months.but in biritish council it is done biannual. PRP is base on grass salary as well as basic salary.
It was very interesting class.we learnt alot.

In to day’s class ZARMINA delivered presentation . No doubt , it was birrilliant presentation. Really she is excellent communicator.

It was very good class. sir discussed competencies.there are 34skills which is defined by hay group.that was great class because we are compelled to think about skills which we have.now it is time to analyze ourself because most of us in final semester and busy in making resumes.
skills are the major part resume, in my views.
the difference between skills and competencies is that skills are visible and competencies are invisible.

if you want know your self then check your strength,weakness. habits.likes and dislikes.

This is my comment for the second last class, in which we hav to submit our movie assignments..uff i really had to go out of my way to complete this task because my dvd rom suddenly went out of order and i had to go at my friend’s place to watch the movieSss.Im really thankful to sir for allowing me to submit it in the next class :)
I want to have a look again on those performance appraisal forms as sir had only shown us for few seconds .
Sir ab ap ke room mien aker mujhe wapis jana parta hai..becuz you are soooo busyy all the time and now i have to take an appointment from you to ask some questions and see those forms as well.

Ok now this is a comment of the previous class.
I really like one thing of Sir Shiraz that he always lead his students to go through a thinking process by asking intelligent and critical questions..He has enabled me atleast to think of those things which we had never even thought of thinking:)
we discussed about the hay group skills and also find out that how many skills were there in ourselves.
Zarmina’s presentation was tooo good!!

Paper was not hard but it was lenghty, blanks were easy as expected, MCQ’s were a bit confusing. There was ‘no’ time of reviewing, which was bad :( . Sir you covered almost all the things which u have taught in the previous classes, paper was easy but ( kuch tou chor dete , subhi kuch de diya tha aap ne tou :) …)anyway…. Sir checking zara hum masoomon ka khayaal kerte hue ki jiyay ga …:)

well as far as paper concern not that much difficult but essence wala qusetion kafi lumbaaaa tha n for 1 hour paper v got confused ka kia is main sub kuch likhna hai :) mcques was preety easy ke khud hi solve kar liya without any chapaiyee as i heard earlier ke app ke mcq buhat tricky hote hain .

todays class was good and chapter 12 was an interesting one and i feel it entirely different from the rest of the chapters and i got every point of that chapter and now the pase of understanging the pms is fast every thing in now self explanatory and i hope that this will continue in the future.i really apologize to my teacher if i have hurd any of his feelings.allah says in quran surah isra verse 81 when truth is hurd against falsehood the falsehood perishes for falsehood is by its nature bound to perish.

Our First test copies were shown to us, and we were explained that how to manage paper in short time and what to write n what not to write. Our teacher satisfied us with the marks which we got. The marking was not too strict, marks were given on the basis of fairess…..rest of the class stuff was the routine thing …..

Well , we all students were very glad to meet Mr Wali Zahid. He was really a very nice speaker as Sir shiraz tells us. We learned alot from the Q\A session today.I hope that he’ll again be invited to MAJU… I think we also made a good impression on him. we all asked good questions and the dicipline in the Auditorium was maintained. No one i guess got bored in his presence.I got to learn alot of good and new things from him …….. Well about tomorrowz quizz, havent studied anything as yet, ubhi i’ll just start, but i dont really feel like studing right now. its 11:45 PM , and i just feel like sleeping :) Sir itne quiz nahi liya karain bhi, ubhi last week tou liya tha …. :(

well my quiz didnt go well bc i didnt know how to carry on with the positive and negetive points about the articals bc i was not well prepared for it. i would definetely be going to the teacher to ask how to write a critical view of any article.second thing is that the project work is more or less same , not hv been to much changed bc previously we were choosing any company which we wanted to but now we were told to choose the company from telecommunication industry.so all the other aspects would be same , we just hv to add a bit of more ques to our questionnaire.

we all are very thankful to zarmina for arranging such an imp personality with the right designation to invite him over as a guest speaker , so that we can learn new things and ask questions from him in case of any confusion.As everyone said tht we received alot of practical n useful knowledge from him , we also got motivated from the things which he was discussing n teaching us.My key learning from the previous session was that the institution of a candidate doesnot matter more then his own capabilities and abilities. if one is a genuine person he can get any job plus anything he wish for.he just have to go on n experience the extramiles , n that needs alot of effort and hardwork.
